Yellow Merry Bells (Uvularia grandiflorum) - 3-Pack of Quart Pots
Uvularia grandiflorum, called Merry Bells or Large Bellwort, is a wonderful North American native flowering perennial plant for the shade or woodland garden. Similar in habit to Helleborus (Lenten Rose), it forms an attractive upright clump of foliage from which numerous, very showy, pendulous, lily-like deep lemon-yellow flowers hang like bells in spring. The large, 1.5-inch flower is shaped like a long bell, has six smooth but twisted perianth parts, and is mildly fragrant. The blooming occurs in our north-central Georgia gardens in early to mid-spring. The plant's root system is rhizomatous, so, if planted in a partially shaded or shady woodland setting with loose, fertile, moist soil, the plant will slowly spread to form a colony if left undisturbed. Merry Bells is a great companion to hardy perennial ferns, Hosta lilies, Heucheras, Helleborus, and many other shade-loving and woodland plants. It is one of those plants that always has you looking forward to spring! Get all the details below
