Guarantee & Return Policy

Healthy Plant Arrival Guarantee

At Wilson Bros Gardens, our goal is to deliver strong, healthy, fully rooted container-grown plants that are ready to establish and thrive in your landscape. Every plant is carefully grown, inspected, and packaged to arrive in excellent condition.

Because plants are living things and can be affected by many factors once they leave our care, we ask that any concerns about a plant’s condition upon arrival be reported within 72 hours of delivery. This inspection window allows us to accurately assess the issue while it is still clearly related to shipping or handling.

If you notice a concern, please email us at [email protected] with clear photos of each plant. From there, our team will work with you to determine the best solution—whether that’s providing expert guidance to help your plant recover, issuing a replacement, or offering store credit when appropriate. In some cases, we may request the return of the plant or product before finalizing a resolution.

While we fully guarantee that plants arrive alive and healthy, this coverage is limited to the initial 72-hour inspection window due to variables outside of our control, including planting conditions, environmental factors, and ongoing care. We do understand that some issues may not be immediately visible, so if any concerns or symptoms arise within 7-10 days, we still encourage you to reach out with photos. While this falls outside of our plant arrival guarantee coverage, our team will review the situation and work with you toward a fair resolution.

Dormant Plants (December 15 – March 15):
Plants received in a dormant state during this period are protected under an extended evaluation window. If a plant fails to break dormancy, please notify us by May 31, and we will review the situation on a case-by-case basis.

Our goal is always to help your plants succeed, not just replace them.

Safe Shipping Guarantee

In the rare event that a package is mishandled during transit and results in damage that may impact the health of your plant(s), we ask that you do not plant the affected item(s). Once a plant has been removed from its original nursery container and planted, we are unable to accept it for return due to agricultural regulations regarding soil and plant material, which are in place to help prevent the spread of pests and disease.

If you receive a plant that appears damaged and may compromise its health or survivability, please take clear photos of both the packaging and the plant(s) and email them to [email protected] within 72 hours of delivery. These images are required in order for us to properly assess the issue, file a claim with the carrier, and arrange a replacement or store credit as quickly as possible.

Wilson Bros Gardens reserves the right to request the return of the plant or product prior to issuing a replacement, refund, or store credit.

Damage claims submitted without photos, or reported after the 72-hour window, are not eligible for coverage under our Safe Shipping Guarantee.

Extended Guarantee

Because plants are living things, they can be affected by many factors beyond our control, including extreme weather conditions, soil drainage, watering practices, sunlight exposure, and other environmental influences.

As an added courtesy, if a plant does not survive, we offer a one-time store credit equal to 50% of the purchase price when we are contacted after the initial 72-hour period but within 6 months of delivery, along with photos of the plant.

This store credit can be used toward the purchase of a replacement plant (if available) or any other item in our online store.

Please Note :  The above guarantees may not apply under the following conditions:

  • Plants that are transplanted into and grown in above-ground pots, planters, or other containers, whether indoors or outdoors

  • Non-life-threatening damage caused by insects or disease

  • Injury or destruction caused by deer, rabbits, pets, people, machinery, vehicles, or other external factors

  • Plants purchased for or planted outside of the USDA Plant Hardiness Zones listed on our website

To help ensure success, USDA Plant Hardiness Zone ranges are provided on each plant page so you can select varieties best suited for your landscape. While these zones are a helpful guideline, they are not exact and may vary based on local conditions such as microclimates, soil, and weather patterns.

Wilson Bros Gardens reserves the right to request a soil sample for evaluation. If plants are found to have been planted in conditions not conducive to their health—such as poor soil quality or improper mineral levels—these guarantees will not apply.

Northern Customers Please Note

Because all of our plants are grown outdoors year-round and fully acclimated to our climate, customers in USDA Zones 8a through 11 can generally plant safely at any time of year.

For customers in USDA Zones 7b through 3a, we strongly recommend timing purchases carefully during seasonal transition periods to avoid potential cold damage.

Late Winter to Early Spring (March 1 – May 15)
If you are located in Zone 7 or further north, we recommend waiting to plant until your local forecast indicates that the risk of freezing temperatures and frost has passed. Keep in mind that frost can occur at temperatures as high as 38°F.

Fall to Early Winter (September 1 – November 15)
During this transition period, we recommend delaying planting until plants have entered dormancy, typically after mid-November. Dormant plants are more tolerant of cold temperatures and less susceptible to frost damage, which can occur at temperatures as high as 38°F.

Please Note:
Before purchasing, always confirm that a plant is listed as hardy for your USDA Zone. Hardiness ranges are provided on each product page to help guide your selection.

Because we ship a high volume of orders across a wide range of climates and cannot monitor current or future weather conditions for every location, we are unable to guarantee plants against cold damage when shipped to areas where they are not rated as hardy.

Expert Planting & Care Tips

Our number one goal is your success. Proper planting and aftercare—especially during the first active growing season—are key to helping your plants establish and thrive.

Under the Planting & Care Advice tab on each plant page at WilsonBrosGardens.com, you’ll find detailed, plant-specific guidance from our experts to help you grow with confidence.

You can also use the Advice Search located at the top of our website to quickly find additional planting and care information.

Our staff horticulturists are available to assist you 7 days a week by email at [email protected]. While we do our best to respond as quickly as possible, responses may be limited or delayed on weekends.

30-Day Return Policy

If for any reason you would like to return an otherwise healthy plant, you may do so within 30 days of delivery for a refund or store credit.

If a plant was damaged during transit, please see above safe shipping guarantee.

Please note that, due to Georgia Department of Agriculture regulations, we cannot accept returns of plants that have been removed from their original containers and transplanted into the ground or other pots, as they may have come into contact with non-certified soil.
