Gertrude Jekyll English Climbing Rose (David Austin) - 2 Gallon Pot
Introduced back in 1986 and named for the famous garden designer and author, for very good reasons 'Gertrude Jekyll' remains one of the most popular and all-time favorites of the pink-flowering English Climbing Roses. Always one of the first to begin flowering in spring, and reblooming throughout the season until frost in fall, she features abundant, perfect scrolled buds that open to large, old-fashioned, gorgeous rosette-shaped blooms with 80+ petals in bright, glowing pink shades. The wonderfully strong and perfectly balanced perfume is often described as being the quintessential Old Rose fragrance with notes of musk and myrrh. The blooms are excellent for cutting and display in a vase or floral arrangements. A vigorous grower reaching 6 to 10 feet tall, depending on the height of the support structure, Gertrude Jekyll is a shorter climber excellent on a trellis, arch, obelisk or other structures in garden beds and containers. Also perfect to frame a doorway. You might be happy to know she adapts to and thrives in both full sun and even dappled shade and is very cold hardy to -30F in USDA Zone 4! Get all the details below
