As the name Swamp Verbena suggests, this perennial likes wet, even soggy, conditions but also will grow in garden soils with average moisture. In summer, candelabra-like spikes bearing pretty flowers in a shades of violet-blue are produced atop tall, sturdy square stems up to 5 feet tall that are clothed with attractive, elongated, toothed green leaves.
