Northcountry Blueberry Bush - 3 Gallon Pot
A super cold-hardy variety introduced by the University of Minnesota back in 1983, the Northcountry Blueberry can handle temperatures down to -40F, making it a fine selection for northern gardeners but also south to USDA Zone 7b and possibly 8a with a little afternoon shade. Northcountry is a hybrid cross between lowbush, from where it gets its smaller size to only 3 feet high and wide, making it a fine choice for containers and smaller garden spaces, and highbush, from which it gets its abundant yields of berries. The tender berries ripen in mid summer and taste much like wild blueberries, with an almost candy-sweet, strong blueberry flavor, making them perfect for fresh-eating right off the bush, or in baking, jams and preserves. After the harvest is over, with the arrival of cooler temperatures in fall the green leaves turn to vibrant shades of red. A fine addition to the home orchard or as an accent or low hedge in the edible landscape. Get all the details below!
