Discovered in Lucerne Switzerland, this Blue-eyed grass is prized for its larger flowers and heavy bloom. Sisyrinchiumhas angustifolium 'Lucerne' forms attractive tufts of iris-like blue-green foliage from which rise thin stems topped with very cute star-shaped flowers with violet-blue petals surrounding a golden-yellow eye. Blooms in late spring to early summer with repeat flowering in moist sites. Highly adaptable, you can grow this one in moist to dry soils, though it has performed best for us in a consistently moist soil making it a perfect selection for those moisture retentive sites. A very low maintenance plant, this diminutive beauty is great for pollinators and early season butterflies and it's seeds enjoyed by birds. Get all the details below!
