King Edward VII Flowering Currant - 5 Gallon Pot
A hummingbird's dream plant, the spectacular 'King Edward VII' Flowering Currant has stood the test of time since it was introduced in 1817. In early to mid spring it features a profusion of downward hanging flower clusters packed with long-lasting vibrant fuchsia-red flowers that will dominate a flowering shrub border and are absolutely irresistible to hummingbirds. The flowers are followed by persistent green and red berries that age to a dark frosty blue. Bushy and more compact than other common varieties, the 5 to 6 feet tall by 3 to 4 feet wide shrub is clothed in very attractive palmate green leaves that turn to lovely shades of amber, pink and gold in the fall. An excellent addition to a sunny to partially shaded flowering shrub or woodland border or accent plant around the home and outdoor sitting and living spaces where the flowers and hummingbirds feeding can be enjoyed from close up.
