Providing fuller flowers and a much heavier display over a longer period from late fall through the winter months, the fragrant, ribbon-like fringe flowers are of a brilliant lemon-yellow color, standing out remarkably well on the bare stems and branches. The leaves emerge a reddish bronze in spring turning to green and then shades of golden yellow and bronze before dropping in mid fall to allow the flowers to take the stage. At 15 to 18 feet tall but only 10-12 feet wide when all grown up, its narrower habit is a better fit for smaller spaces than other varieties. You can allow it to grow naturally as a large shrub or lower branches can be removed to form a highly attractive small tree.
