Littleleaf Dogwood - 1 Gallon Pot
Cornus quinquenervis, commonly known as the Littleleaf Dogwood, is a distinctive and rare species that forms a rounded, arching mound 6 to 8 feet tall and equally as wide. Unlike common dogwoods, it features abundant clusters of small, star-shaped flowers that smother the branches in late spring to early summer. Butterflies and other beneficial pollinators will thank you for planting this flowering beauty! Following the bloom are equally abundant clusters of black berries that the birds will feast on. As its name suggests, it has oval, pointed leaves that are smaller than those of other dogwoods, and have five veins through the leaf, hence its other common name of Five-veined Dogwood. The leaves emerge bright green, transitioning to darker green and then to shades of yellow and/or purple during the fall. Easy to grow in a variety of soils, the Littleleaf Dogwood is ideal for planting in partially shaded to shady landscapes and woodland borders, and is a must-have plant for pollinator gardens in USDA Zones 6a-8b.
