White Whorled Milkweed (Asclepias verticillata) - 1 Gallon Pot
An exceptionally tough but pretty North American native perennial that the Monarch butterflies and numerous other beneficial pollinators will thank you for planting, Asclepias verticillata, commonly known as White Whorled Milkweed, is an upright growing plant that will spread to form a colony, even in dry, poor soils. From mid summer through early fall it features abundant clusters of pretty white flowers formed on tall stems to 3 feet high that are clothed in umbrella-like whorls of needle-like green leaves. The plants are very vigorous and deep rooted so are highly drought tolerant when established. Plant several and they will form a colony or drift in sunny woodland borders and wildflower gardens. Excellent for dry and difficult sites where not much else will grow. You might be happy to know that deer and rabbits turn their noses up to this one. Get all the details below
