Sharp's Pygmy Dwarf Japanese Maple - 7 Gallon Pot
Discovered in the early 1980s as a chance seedling at Sharp's Nursery in Sandy, Oregon, 'Sharp's Pygmy' is one of the shortest Japanese Maples in existence, reaching only 4 feet tall and equally as wide in 10 years or so. Its miniature stature makes it a fine selection for growing in containers or small garden spaces, where it adds only 3 to 4 inches in size per year. In spring, its 5-lobed deeply divided and toothed little leaves emerge a light green transitioning to a lustrous rich green as the season progresses. Fall brings striking fiery orange and red shades. A charming Japanese maple that is sure to be a conversation piece in the garden or in containers situated on patios, terraces, decks or around other outdoor living spaces where its cuteness can be enjoyed from close up.
