A totally unique specimen, the Weeping Temple Juniper is a rapidly growing evergreen tree with distinctive weeping branches and bright green needle-like leaves that are longer than on most other Juniper varieties. The needles take on an attractive reddish hue in winter. Exceptionally easy to grow, this is one of those perfect specimens for that special place in the landscape.




Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 15 to 20 feet tall by 6 to 8 feet wide at maturity with an irregular weeping habit, the Weeping Temple Juniper an ideal selection as a focal point specimen anywhere in the sunny landscape. It is also useful to frame the corners of tall homes or to frame entryways. A fine addition to the conifer garden, rock garden, Xeriscape (low water needs) and in containers.

Spacing: 10' or more for space between plants




Cultural Preferences

The Weeping Temple Juniper is easy to grow in locations that provide well-drained soils and full sun to mostly sun. Constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. It is a very low maintenance plant and exceptionally drought tolerant when established. No pruning is necessary, however can be trained to various shapes for topiary.
