Special Attributes

If you're looking to create a stunning summer display of bright flower color in your landscape or gardens it just doesn't get much better than the Goldsturm Daisy. Out of the thousands of perennials we grow in our gardens Goldsturm Daisy is in our top 5, for sure.

Winner of The Perennial Plant of the Year in 1999, the Goldsturm Daisy is a major improvement of the native North American species. Plants make a bushy, upright clump to 24 inches tall with a profuse and stunning display of black-eyed, golden-yellow daisies from midsummer into fall. The flowers are very attractive to butterflies and are excellent for cutting. Seedheads have good winter interest and if left on the plant will scatter seeds that will expand the "patch." A truly amazing perennial plant.

Landscape & Garden Uses

The Goldsturm Daisy grows well in landscape and garden beds and containers. Growing 18 to 24 inches tall and wide, Goldsturm Daisy is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces and large mixed container gardens. It is truly breathtaking in groupings or mass plantings in sunny landscape or woodland borders and perennial gardens. A fine addition to butterfly, cut flower, cottage and white color theme gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  18" for mass plantings

Cultural Preferences

The Goldsturm Daisy is very easy to grow in most any well-drained but moist soil in full sun or part shade. Provide at least 6 hours of direct sun for best flowering. As with many other perennial plants, constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic. Heavy, dense clay soils should be amended with organic matter to improve drainage.
