Radiant Variegated Japanese Maple
Acer palmatum 'Radiant'

USDA Plant Hardiness Zones: 5a-9a  Find Your Zone

Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 5a, where this Japanese Maple variety is not reliably winter hardy, you'll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.

Special Attributes

A spectacular Acer palmatum introduction that will knock your socks off, the properly named 'Radiant' is a year round color factory. Variegated leaves like no other are pink, rose, salmon, white, and green throughout the spring and summer, turning to a glorious bright red in the fall. The pink variegation may fade to a cream by summer, but the new growth provides more pink variegation giving a cosmos of colors across the tree. What's more, in winter the bark of Radiant turns to light yellow-green with pink swirling.

Landscape & Garden Uses

To showcase its magnificence and beauty, Radient Variegated Japanese Maple is best used in the landscape as a focal point specimen to draw attention to a specific area of the home or landscape. That said, you can plant them in groupings of three or plant one on both sides of an entryway to accentuate the entrance.

Spacing: At least 16' for space between trees
