The creamy white leaves centered in green are a wonderful backdrop for the abundant, charming pink and white trumpet-shaped flowers during late spring and sporadically through early fall. Hummingbirds and butterflies love the flowers! Exceptionally easy to grow, the Variegated Weigela is a beautiful but tough flowering shrub that adds abundant color and curb appeal to your landscape. Es[ecially nice when planted near other shrubs with dark purple or green foliage. 




Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 4-6 feet tall and wide at maturity, Pink Variegated Weigela is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings or as a natural hedge in landscape and flowering shrub borders. A soft-textured colorful accent front-faced with lower growing evergreen shrubs or groundcover plants in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to hummingbird gardens, cottage gardens, perennial gardens, and pink color themed gardens.

Spacing:  3 to 4 feet for solid hedge;  8 feet or more for space between plants.




Cultural Preferences

When planted right, and in the right spot, Weigela are very easy to grow. They adapt well to most any average garden soil, preferring a well-drained but moist soil of average fertility. Established plants have good drought tolerance. Flowering is best in full to mostly sun though plants will tolerate some light shade, especially in the warmer southern regions where it grows.
