Special Attributes

If you love Weigela but haven't had enough room to grow one meet Pink Poppet, a dwarf version that grows low and small enough to be considered a groundcover! At only 2 feet tall and spreading to a little over 3 feet wide she is the perfect size for small garden spaces and containers. In late spring or early summer Pink Poppet explodes with a profusion of pretty, funnel shaped flowers then reblooming again later in summer. Emerald green foliage really sets off the flowers. Excellent in garden beds or pots, planters and other containers.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 2 to 2.5 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide at maturity, Pink Poppet Weigela is ideal for use as an accent or in groupings or massed in landscape and flowering shrub borders. Am nice accent in foundation plantings where a low growing flowering shrub is desired. A fine addition to hummingbird gardens, cottage gardens, flower gardens, perennial gardens, and pink theme gardens.

Suggested Spacing: 2.5' for solid hedge; 5' or more for space between plants.

Cultural Preferences

When planted right, and in the right spot, Weigela are very easy to grow. They adapt well to most any average garden soil, preferring a well-drained, moist soil of average fertility. Flowering is best in full to mostly sun though plants will tolerate some light shade, especially in the warmer southern regions where it grows.
