USDA Plant Hardiness Zones: 4a-8b Find Your Zone

Special Attributes

Pink Poppet Weigela produces showy, funnel-shaped, soft pink flowers profusely in early spring and reblooms in mid to late summer. Pink Poppet is best used for filling small spaces or planting in front of larger shrubs or trees however, can be used to add color to just about any sunny or mostly sunny area of the landscape.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 2-3 feet tall and wide at maturity, Pink Poppet Weigela is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings or as a low hedge in landscape and flowering shrub borders. A soft-textured colorful accent front-faced with lower growing evergreen shrubs or groundcover plants in home foundation plantings. Being an all-season repeat bloomer, Sonic Bloom Pink Weigela is an excellent candidate for container gardens. Also a welcome addition to hummingbird gardens, cottage gardens, flower gardens, perennial gardens, and pink color themed gardens.

Spacing: 2.5' for solid hedge; 5' or more for space between plants.

Cultural Preferences

When planted right, and in the right spot, Weigela are very easy to grow. They adapt well to most any average garden soil, preferring a well-drained, moist soil of average fertility. Flowering is best in full to mostly sun though plants will tolerate some light shade, especially in the warmer southern regions where it grows.
