USDA Plant Hardiness Zones: 8a-11  Find Your Zone

Note: For our customers who live and garden North of USDA Cold Hardiness Zone 8a, where this Pittosporum variety is not reliably winter hardy, you'll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.

Special Attributes

With attractive variegated green leaves edged in yellow that light up shady spaces, and white flowers with a wonderfully sweet fragrance reminiscent of orange blossoms, Mojo Pittosporum is a low maintenance dwarf evergreen shrub perfect for use as an accent or in groupings in shady to partially shaded home foundation plantings, landscape borders and smaller garden spaces. We suggest morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun. High salt tolerance makes it a fine selection for coastal gardens. All grown up Mojo reaches maybe 3 feet tall and wide.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing in a dense mound 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 feet or more wide, Mojo Pittosporum is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces or in groupings, mass plantings, or as a border or low hedge in larger landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Excellent salt tolerance makes it a perfect choice for use in coastal gardens. A fine addition to seaside gardens, Asian gardens, fragrance & sensory gardens, yellow theme gardens, shade gardens, rock gardens, tropical look gardens and the Xeriscape (low water needs).

Suggested Spacing: 2 to 2.5 feet apart for solid hedges and mass plantings; 5 feet or more apart for space between plants

Cultural Preferences

Mojo Pittosporum is very easy to grow in most any well-drained loose soils and shade to partial shade. Morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun is best. It will need some moisture when young but is exceptionally heat and drought tolerant when established. No pruning is necessary however can be pruned for shaping purposes or to control size.
