Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing naturally to about 5 to 6 feet tall and wide, or kept smaller with occasional pruning, Jazz Hands Bold® Loropetalum is an ideal choice as an accent, grouped or in straight hedges or staggered patterns in home foundation plantings and landscape borders. It's low water needs makes it suitable for use in Xeriscape plantings. The year round deep purple foliage contrasts nicely with plants that have yellow, light green, grey or other light colored foliage or flowers.

Spacing:  4-5' for solid hedge;  8-10'+ for space between plants

Cultural Preferences

Jazz Hands Bold® Loropetalum is very easy to grow. It's not too picky about soil type, however prefers a well-drained soil of average fertility. As with so many other ornamental plants, constantly soggy or wet soil can cause root rot or other harmful plant diseases. So make sure to plant Jazz Hands Bold® in a well-drained site. Regarding light needs, we've found that Jazz Hands Bold® grows well in full sun or part shade. Plants are exceptionally drought tolerant when established, requiring little if any supplemental irrigation. Jazz Hands Bold® requires little to no pruning, however responds very well to pruning for a more formal shape or hedge.
