Special Attributes

If you've heard of and like 'Blue Pacific' Juniper, you're gonna love 'Golden Pacific', which is basically the same plant but with screaming yellow foliage. Its bright yellow needles (to 5/8” long) appear in groups of three along the trailing branches forming a dense, erosion controlling carpet wherever it grows. A true standing in the landscape that really compliments nearby plants that have dark colored foliage in shades of green, purple, blue or red, and flowers in bright shades of any color but yellow!

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 8 to 10 inches tall and spreading relatively quickly up to 12 feet wide, Golden Pacific Juniper is ideal for use in mass plantings for erosion control on sunny embankments, hillsides and slopes or as a border in landscape beds and islands. It also spills over walls and is a great choice to underplant small trees such as Japanese Maples and Crape Myrtles. Golden Pacific provides wonderful contrast when planted among darker leaf plants and trees. Excellent Xeriscape plant (low water needs).

Suggested Spacing:  3-5 feet for mass plantings;  14 feet or more for space between plants

Cultural Preferences

Golden Pacific Juniper is exceptionally easy to grow in most any average, well-drained soil and full sun to a little light shade. Plants are exceptionally drought tolerant when established. Constantly soggy or wet soil can cause root rot or other harmful plant diseases. Very low-maintenance requiring little to no pruning.
