USDA Plant Hardiness Zones: 7a-9b  Find Your Zone

Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Cold Hardiness Zone 7a, where this Euonymus variety is not reliably winter hardy, you'll be happy to know that it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and place back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.

Special Attributes

If you're looking to bring bold color to your garden, Golden Euonymus is an evergreen shrub displaying bright variegated foliage year round. The bright yellow leaves are painted green at the center. This shrub responds very well to pruning so is often used for formal hedges or various topiary shapes including globe and pyramid.

Landscape & Garden Uses

With an upright growth habit 4 to 6 feet tall and 3 to 6 feet wide (depending on pruning), Golden Euonymus is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings, or in straight or staggered rows as a hedge in landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Excellent as a solo or combined with other plants in pots, planters and other containers of 12 inches or more in rim diameter.

Suggested Spacing:  2 to 3 feet apart for solid hedge;  7 feet or more apart for space between plants

Cultural Preferences

Golden Euonymus is very easy to grow in a wide variety of conditions and soil types. Prefers full sun with average moisture and well-drained soil, but tolerates drought and some partial shade. With occasional pruning, Golden Euonymuscan be maintained at virtually any height, shape, or size.
