Special Attributes

Golden Creeping Jenny is a favorite perennial groundcover of ours, and our customers too. We just can't get enough of it in our gardens! Though it's a super-fast grower that quickly fills a space, it's soft vines make Creeping Jenny very easy to manage and keep in bounds. The bright golden yellow foliage is a wonderful accent and/or contrast to other plants in the garden or containers. It really contrasts beautifully with other plants that have red, burgundy, purple or dark green foliage. Foliage turns an attractive orange color in during winter in cooler climates.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Because it's so colorful, quickly fills a space, and is low maintenance, we use Creeping Jenny extensively in our gardens as a groundcover, border, or underplanting for shrubs and trees. Perfect for use between widely-spaced stepping stones. It also is ideal for planting in pots or hanging baskets, where it will spill over the edges of containers. It even grows in pots situated in the margins of our garden ponds. A fine addition to shade, woodland and Asian theme gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  18 to 24 inches for mass plantings

Cultural Preferences

Creeping Jenny will grow in any average soil and in part sun or shade, though we think it stands out more in shade, lighting up shade gardens. It will tolerate damp soil however is quite drought tolerant when established, only requiring supplemental irrigation during drought. USDA Zones 4a-9b Find Your Zone >
