Special Attributes

Always wanted to grow blueberry bushes but haven't had the space? Meet Bushel and Berry 'Peach Sorbet', a dwarf blueberry that's a perfect fit for growing in 12-inch or larger pots or in smaller garden spaces. But that's only a start with the special attributes. This cute dwarf is a year round color factory. In spring, new growth emerges in shades of peach, pink, orange, and emerald green. Its white, dangling, bell-shaped spring flowers are then followed by loads of large and healthy deliciously-sweet blue fruits in summer. Fall rolls around and the foliage turns to a deep purple that persists through winter. A truly remarkable plant!

Note:  Though Peach Sorbet Blueberry is self-pollinating, fruit yields might be heavier when planted near a different mid-season ripening Blueberry variety for pollination.

Landscape & Gardens Uses

In the landscape or garden plants are ideal for use as a specimen in smaller spaces or in groupings or as a low hedge in larger garden spaces.

Cultural Preferences

Blueberry plants grow best in an acidic (pH of 4.8 to 5.2), organically rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. The more sun the better for best berry production. The shallow, fibrous roots of blueberry plants like a consistently moist but well-drained soil which can be provided by with a layer of organic mulch. Although blueberries are self-fertile, cross-pollination produces the best fruit crop (larger berries and larger yields). Therefore it is best to plant more than one variety that will bloom at the same time. Blueberry season can be extended by planting early, mid-season and late varieties. Make sure to plant two different cultivars/varieties for each season.
