Special Attributes

'Biloxi' Crape Myrtle is a year round color factory! It produces large clusters of delicate, soft-pink flowers attached to gracefully arching branches during most of summer. Its foliage is rich-green through spring and summer turning beautiful shades of orange, red, and yellow in fall. The wonderful cinnamon and silver-white bark provides interest throughout the winter, spring, summer, and fall!

No more problems with powdery mildew! Because Biloxi is a indica x fauriei hybrid, it is totally resistant to powdery mildew; an unsightly disease which shows up during summer as a white powdery substance that covers the leaves on many other types of crape myrtle.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing to 20-25 feet tall depending on pruning, and 15-20 feet wide, Biloxi Crape Myrtle is ideal for use as a single focal specimen or accent or in groupings in sunny landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Mark a drive or other entry by planting one of these beauties on bot sides. Excellent for medians and to line a street or drive. Whether planted as a specimen or in groupings, this is one magnificent tree that is sure to stand out in the landscape. A fine addition to pink color theme gardens.

Spacing:  25-30'+ for space between plants

Cultural Preferences

Biloxi Crape Myrtle is very easy to grow. It is not picky about soil type provided the soil is well-drained. A moist but well-drained soil of average fertility is preferred. Full sun is preferred and results in heavier flower production. Light shade is tolerated but flowering will be diminished in more shade. Has shown excellent resistance to powdery mildew and is quite drought tolerant when established.
