Stellar Pink Dogwood Tree
Cornus x 'Rutgan'

If you've been afraid to plant a Dogwood tree for fear of disease and/or borer problems, have no more fear. The dependable Stellar Pink Dogwood has excellent resistance to both the dogwood borer and anthracnose disease. Anthracnose has wiped out many of the native Dogwood trees in several areas within the U.S.  Stellar Pink is a hybrid of American Dogwood crossed with Japanese Dogwood which results in much stronger vigor and resistance to insect and disease.

The loads of gorgeous pink flowers of Stellar Pink Dogwood will light up your garden in spring and the beautiful leaves will remain rich green, unblemished, and healthy throughout the entire warm season until they turn garnet red in fall. For an even more spectacular springtime show, include the Cherokee Princess (white) Dogwood in your garden. The pink and white flower combination is a wonderful sight to see!

Plant your dogwood tree in average, well drained, medium moist soil. Drainage is the key to having success with your Dogwood tree as consistently soggy soils can result in root rot. Learn more about how to plant your Dogwood tree under the PLANTING tab Above. Prefers morning sun or filtered sun. Avoid prolonged periods of direct sun during the afternoon. It is hardy in USDA Zones 5a-9b. Find Your Zone >
