Red Drift Rose
Rosa 'Meigalpio' PP 17877

Red Drift produces the smallest bloom of any of the roses in the Drift series, but makes up for it with producing the most blooms! The gorgeous, fully double, cheery deep-red, petite blooms appear in large clusters in spring and repeat up to 5 times through ther season. Red Drift has been one of the strongest performers of the series in our gardens.

The new family of Drift Roses are comparable to the family of Knock Out Roses in disease resistance and low-maintenance, however are much smaller in size. They get their small size from being a cross between full-size groundcover roses and miniature roses. From the former they kept toughness, disease resistance and winter hardiness. From the miniatures, they inherited their well-managed size and repeat-blooming nature.

Drift Roses are exceptionally easy to grow in average, well-drained soils with medium moisture in full sun to part shade. Keep in mind that all roses require morning sun to dry the morning dew from their leaves but will tolerate afternoon shade. Drift Roses do not require pruning, however, they do benefit from it. We cut our Drift Roses back to about 4 to 6 inches above the ground in late winter. Plants will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers is not necessary however will encourage new buds and flowers. USDA Zones 4a-11  Find Your Zone >
