Edgeworthia
Edgeworthia chrysantha

A cousin of Winter Daphne, Edgeworthia chrysantha, also known as Paper Bush, has to be one of our favorite plants in our gardens. During the warm season, the plant is adorned with long, plumeria-like leaves. The leaves drop in early winter to reveal both the wonderful bark and the large, silvery flower buds. In January, the flower buds begin opening to fragrant, golden-yellow, honeysuckle like flowers densely packed in round clusters that continue to April.

Choose a spot to plant Edgeworthia that offers some shade, preferably afternoon shade. Rich, well drained soil is a must. Provide supplemental water if leaves wilt during prolonged periods of dry weather in summer. Make sure to pick just the right spot for this plant because it does not like being transplanted once established. USDA Zones: 7a-10a  Find Your Zone >

very healthy
This was the 2nd paper bush that we bought. The first one was in a combined order and while all the other plants were in excellent shape the bush was fried after the trip cross country. After talking with the folks and sending pictures the cost of the first bush was refunded. EXCELLENT service from the team. This supplier has gone to the top of our list on who to order from. ---------- WBG Reply: Hi Leslie - Not sure what happened with the first Edgeworthia we sent, but we're glad to hear the second one survived the trip okay. I absolutely love this plant...definitely in my top 10 of all the plants in my own gardens. Let us know if there's ever anything else we can help you with. We're at your service! - Brent Wilson | Wilson Bros Gardens

Love the fragrance!
Oh my god...I had no idea how wonderfully fragrant paperbushes would be. It's February and my plant blooming right now with a few flowers. I can't imagine what it will be like when the plants are as big in pictures I've seen with hundreds of flowers. I've ordered one more from you to go in another spot...one for the backyard and one for the front. The plants you sent were very nice.
